I put mine on 50 and got realy good results.Press V/M key to be able to change the value with the frequency nob. ________________________________________________________________________ Date: Mon, 1 Jul 2002 09:30:49 EDT From: Frosty6981@aol.com Subject: Re: VX-7R Max Modulation tweak i cannot get in to that menu 73, Reid KCŘIDI ________________________________________________________________________ Date: Mon, 01 Jul 2002 15:04:17 -0000 From: "ahamradio" Subject: Re: VX-7R Max Modulation tweak --- In YAESUVX7@y..., Frosty6981@a... wrote: > i cannot get in to that menu > 73, Reid KCŘIDI Make sure you are in the MAIN VFO mode before you power of and then try it again. =========================================================================== Date: Mon, 01 Jul 2002 22:27:46 -0000 From: "p49k" Subject: Yaesu VX-7R Alignment Menu Someone on another VX-7R group posted if you hold the Mon/F + Internet key + SET while turning the power on it give you what looks like the Alignment Menu. You can make changes by pressing the V/M button then turn the frequency knob. I don't know if pressing the V/M stores it or like the VX-5R pressing the HM/RV will save it and exit at same time. Mine comes up on the UHF band. I would like to know how do I change bands? I did this quickly since I don't know much about the 222MHz circuit description. This is because the "PLL REF" option only shows up on the 440 band. Ken N1KK =========================================================================== (followed above message as an answer) I'd mentioned this mod some time ago I was interested when people would find it. I would recommend that you run the radio off an external 9V supply good to about 5 A and monitor the current to see what effect. I expect the current will go up considerably near the top of the band at 1 watt. I'd be interested to know how close it comes to the current the radio draws at full 5 W in band on say 70 cm. This is only a ball park figure as one doesn't know what the voltage peaks etc on the collector (Drain) are which may ultimately kill the finals. But it could be taken as a possible maximum upper limit one would not want to exceed! Changes aren't saved unless you exit by pressing F then HM/RV. You can select power and deviation settings for each end of the band by pressing MONI/F while one of those settings is displayed. =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== =========================================================================== ===========================================================================
