I Have been supplied with several sources of simple programs that will save and store memories, but as of yet have not had a chance to try them out yet. It is highly unlikely that ICOM would redesign the wheel, when they already have the routines in user on other similar rigs, such as the 706 line. It would actually make the rig less desirable, turn customers away when they find out they were orphaned when the feature is advertised on generation Y and so on. The 7000's command set is much more extensive, more so that some other Icom radios, especially the 706 series.
