Very dependent upon your voice. Read the adjustment technique present in the One Board Filter manual for some ideas how to do it w/o a friend. http://www.w4rt.com/obf/obf_manual.pdf 72,Barry - W4WB ============================================================ Date: Thu, 22 Dec 2005 07:32:21 -0600 From: "Harold Burton" Subject: Re: Re: Blown Finals - Second Time ? When I first read of the "hidden" menu on my FT-857, I opened it immediately, set down with a piece of paper, and wrote down all the settings. I've been back in to check my 2 year old transceiver at least once a year since (last time just this week) and it remains unchanged. I will NOT alter ANY of the settings unless I find something has changed, then I'll set it back as it originally was. I don't know if that will ever happen. I don't even know if it CAN happen without the intervention of some outside entity. I just figured it would be a good idea to have a record of the original settings. I belong to the FT-817, FT-857, and the FT-897 groups though I only own an FT-857. I thought it'd be a good idea to keep up with "family" activity. If not, the calibration may be different, although the displayed calibration values are as they were, and this is due to the fact that 13.8 volts is used as the REFERENCE for all these values! To confirm accuracy, check the radio front-panel VOLTAGE display, to see if it reads 13.8 volts when the radio is powered, in receive mode, from EXTERNAL 13.8 volts.-73, KC3VO-Bob. ============================================================ Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2006 15:45:40 -0000 From: "expeditionradio" Subject: "DX Audio" TX Carrier Offset, Adjustment, Low-cut/High emphasis Hi Orrin, Try these settings to shift your TX audio for more highs and less lows, this will give you that "Heil DX Mic element sound" MENU 56 T LSB CAR -300Hz MENU 57 T USB CAR +300Hz MENU 46 SSB MIC (increase to higher level) Bonnie KQ6XA > OK so i will look for the USB &LSB TX Carrier Offset.
